Drew Brees’ son is all grown up at Hall of Fame game 16 years after viral Super Bowl moment

Believe it or not, it has already been 16 years since New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees won a Super Bowl, and the Hall of Fame inductee was with his son, Baylen, at the annual HOF game.

His son was with him at the Hall of Fame game ahead of his father’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 7. Brees headlines a class that also includes Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri, and Roger Craig.

Most Saints fans remember Baylen for his appearance at Super Bowl 44. Brees held his son, who was a baby at the time, as the confetti fell.

Saints QB Drew Brees’ Hall of Fame career

In his first year of eligibility, Brees was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He retired following the 2020 season. At the time of his retirement, he was the all-time leader in passing yards (80,358). He finished his career with 571 passing touchdowns against 243 interceptions.

However, Tom Brady, who would play two more seasons after Brees hung it up, eclipsed him, ending his career with 89,214. Brady also ended his career as the all-time leader in completions (7,753) and passing touchdowns (649).

Throughout his NFL career, Brees was named to 13 Pro Bowls and led the league in passing yards seven times. He also led the league in touchdowns in four seasons and in completion percentage six times. Additionally, he was a two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year and was named to five All-Pro teams (one First-team, four Second-team).

Before his time with the Saints, Brees played college football at Purdue and for the then-San Diego Chargers from 2001 to 2005. He was drafted in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft.
