Mavericks desperately want 1-of-1 Cooper Flagg card and are willing to pay for it

Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg is expected to have a monster campaign in his second season, especially since the team has practically handed him the keys. Flagg lived up to the hype of being the No. 1 pick in his rookie year. Now, he wants to be bigger.

Because of his fast ascent, he has become a popular star in the NBA. He has also become arguably the most sought-after player for card collectors. Topps recently released a 1-of-1 autographed debut patch card of Flagg. It is widely viewed as the holy grail, as it could sell for up to $2 million.

Many are dying to pull the rare card, and the Mavericks have already placed a bounty for it.

But instead of cash, Dallas will trade two season premium lower-level tickets for 32 years—an homage to Flagg’s jersey number, a signed game-worn rookie jersey of the 19-year-old forward, a postgame picture with him, and a VIP tour of the Mavericks’ practice facility, plus a meet-and-greet, for starters.

The team will also include a “private basketball experience” for up to 10 guests at American Airlines Center and a “road trip experience” to watch the Mavericks battle the Boston Celtics at TD Garden, including round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations.

“My 1-of-1 auto debut patch card is out there, and my team wants it. If you have it and want to trade it to the Dallas Mavs, you can unlock some once-in-a-lifetime experiences,” said Flagg in a video posted by the Mavericks.

He signed the special card at Fanatics Fest in New York last month.

To recall, Flagg’s game-worn jersey from his much-awaited debut sold for a record $1 million in an auction.
