Brawl Stars Mortis Guide – How To Unlock

Overall, you can unlock Mortis in Brawl Stars in one of the following ways:

• Unlock him on Starr Road for 1,900 Credits (349 Gems/Two Brawler Vault Keys)
  • Mortis must be your selected brawler on Starr Road to make sure your credits go towards unlocking him.
• Purchase Mortis for 349 Gems OR Two Brawler Keys
• Unlock Mortis via:
  • Mythic (2.96%) or Legendary (6.10%) Starr Drop
  • Mythic (3.88%), Legendary (5.43%), or Ultra Legendary (24.75%) Chaos Drop
  • Mega Box (0.2%)

Brawl Stars Mortis Guide – Attacks & Stats Per Level

Mortis’ Main attack, Shovel Swing, is a dash attack in which Mortis quickly swipes forward in whatever direction he’s aiming. He damages all brawlers in his path, though a wall can cut his dash short. Furthermore, if Mortis has all three ammo, he’ll quickly fill a meter. When the meter is full, he gains extra distance on his next dash. Mortis cannot use the long dash again until he has full ammo and the meter refills.

Mortis’ Super, Life Blood, is a long-range attack in which Mortis unleashes a swarm of bats on enemies. These bats can go through walls as they move in a straightforward path. When the bats hit an enemy, they receive damage while Mortis receives some health for landing his attack.

Furthermore Mortis’ Hypercharge, Blood Boomerang, lets his Super return to him, potentially dealing twice the damage and healing. With the Buffie, Mortis’ main attack spawns a phantom that attacks the same spot while his Hypercharge is active.

  • Buffie Effect: “Deals damage when passing through enemies and heals for the damage dealt.”

• Creepy Harvest – “Mortis reaps the life essence of a Brawler he defeats, restoring a portion of his max health.”
  • Buffie Effect: “Gains additional max health until defeated.”
• Coiled Snake – “Mortis gains his longer dash faster.”
  • Buffie Effect: “Gains damage reduction during his long dash.”

Furthermore, Mortis can use the following gears in battle:

Brawl Stars Mortis Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup

For Gadgets, we prefer Creature of the Night. That’s because you can use it as a means to escape from or chase down an enemy brawler. Furthermore, with its Buffie Effect, you can gain health as you pass through and damage enemies. Combo Spinner is nice, too, as it often provides that little bit of extra firepower you need to knock out an enemy brawler.

For Star Powers, we recommend Creepy Harvest for most players. The healing from defeating enemies, using his Super, and maybe even Creature of the Night all makes Mortis difficult to take down. Furthermore, despite being a close-range brawler, he doesn’t have a ton of health. So any way of keeping him alive should assist you greatly.

For Gears, we like to use a Damage and Shield Gear. We tend to recommend these gadgets for most brawlers because they provide both offensive and defensive boosts. But a Gadget Cooldown may also be of use if you like using Mortis’ Gadgets.

Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use Mortis In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)

Gem Grab

Mortis’ ability to quickly navigate around the map makes him great for Gem Grab. He can dash around and use Creature of the Night to get to where he needs to be quickly. Whether he needs to chase down a gem carrier or if he is one, Mortis is tricky to chase down. Even if you do get close to him, he can just beat you down with his attack, gadgets, and Super.

Hot Zone

Once again, Mortis’ ability to move around quickly makes him an asset in Hot Zone. He can dash his way into the zone quickly and set up some map control. Furthermore, he can use his dashes to avoid enemy fire, and use Creature of Night to get away if his health gets low. And with all his methods of healing, Mortis is not going to be easy to take down.

Solo/Duo/Trio Showdown

Mortis works well in any Showdown mode, preferably with teammates, though. He can destroy boxes quickly thanks to his piercing dash. His dash also allows him to traverse the map quickly. If he finds himself in a corner, he can use Creature of the Night to escape and perhaps heal himself.

Bounty/Knockout/Wipeout

Generally, Mortis may struggle on these modes because many maps tend to favor long-range brawlers. Even if he does get close, many brawlers now have methods of slowing, stunning, or pushing him back. However, if Mortis plays smart, he can single out one enemy and drive them away from their teammates before going in for the wipe out.
