Major Ronda Rousey fight teased after Jake Paul’s PFL-MVP merger

Earlier this year, Ronda Rousey officially marked an end to her MMA career after defeating Gina Carano in less than a minute. Streamed on Netflix and promoted by Jake Paul’s MVP, Rousey made her MMA return after almost a decade.

However, when asked about another future fight, Rousey always remained hesitant and later confirmed her retirement on social media. Now, just hours after the PFL-MVP merger, Rousey’s arch-nemesis, Cris Cyborg, was ignited with the passion to fight Rousey.

Cyborg and Rousey have always maintained a tense relationship, with the two often taking shots at each other. Cyborg has never fought Rousey, and that failed fight has remained a heated topic between the two.

Currently, a part of PFL, Cyborg recently reacted to the merger news on social media and teased finally fighting Rousey. “Hey [Ronda Rousey], I have an idea,” Cyborg wrote on X while reacting to the merger graphic.

The former UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, and Invicta FC champion had her retirement fight announced by the PFL this year. Cyborg is scheduled to defend her featherweight belt against Ketlen Vieira at PFL Tampa on Aug. 22, 2026, in what is supposed to be her final fight. However, the merger news has raised Cyborg’s push to finally clash with Rousey in an MMA fight and finally settle the debate between the two.

While Rousey’s career has spanned across the Olympics, UFC, WWE, ROH, and the indies, Cyborg has maintained herself as an MMA fighter and fought across several major MMA promotions. Despite Cyborg’s tease, Rousey has not yet officially responded to it.
