Dillian Whyte targeting three opponents as talks get underway for comeback fight

Dillian Whyte is hanging on for one last big payday.

‘The Bodysnatcher’ hasn’t set foot between the ropes since his crushing knockout loss to Moses Itauma in August 2025.

If lukewarm wins over Christian Hammer and Ebenezer Tetteh weren’t good enough indications that Whyte is past his best, then a one-round blowout at the hands of a younger, fresher fighter certainly did.

Now 38 years old, Whyte is far removed from the bona fide top five heavyweight who beat Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and Derek Chisora (twice).

But as the final bell draws near, Whyte prepares to roll the dice one more time.

“I understand I’m coming off a first-round defeat; I’m not deluded,” Whyte told Sky Sports after revealing that conversations are underway with his promoter Queensberry.

“I understand that I need a fight to get myself back into contention, so [I’ll fight] whoever really.

“I just want to get a fight back and just get back in the ring, shake some ring rust and just get my groove on again and then fight whoever there is to fight.”

While his days of mixing it with the divisional elite are firmly behind him, Whyte is setting his sights on ageing contemporaries.

“I’d love to fight Derek Chisora, Andy Ruiz, [Jarrell] Miller,” added Whyte.

“These are guys from my era that I didn’t fight [aside from Chisora], and I’d love to fight them.”

Whyte had been in talks to face Chisora for a third time at the back end of last year, but his manager Michael Ofo revealed to talkSPORT.com that conversations had fallen by the wayside after ‘Del Boy’ went radio silent.

While Chisora is technically retired in the wake of his defeat to Deontay Wilder, he has repeatedly teased a return to the ring.

Most recently, he called for a shot at Murat Gassiev’s WBA heavyweight title.

However, Whyte serves as a more realistic option for what would be his 51st professional fight.

Andy Ruiz Jr and Jarrell Miller boxed to a draw in August 2024 and both find themselves in the ‘Who Needs Them Club’.

Ruiz Jr will hope to break off from that undesired group by beating Poland’s Damian Knyba on September 4 in his first fight in two years.

Miller rebounded this year to beat Kingsley Ibeh and Lenier Pero, but is still without a statement win.
