It should be a maximum field of 14 for the Highclere Castle Gin Summer Handicap.

The 1m6f contest sees Valedictory as the big favourite at around 11/4 with Sing Us A Song currently around 6’s.

Align The Stars is a great each-way price and has won twice in the last four runs (albeit on the all-weather) but also placed a solid second to Goblet Of Fire at Newmarket in May who was carrying just a 1lb shy of a stone lighter than this Charlie Johnston-trained star.

Valedictory is the big favourite and rightfully so too so warrants backing two in this race.

The Cracksman gelding trained by John & Thady Gosden has won twice on the bounce now including over course and distance in May, his first run over this trip and is clearly very well suited to such distance.

Only upped 3lb for latest win at Newmarket and really should forge on again.

Opportunity

Won two on the bounce and also placed behind Wine Dark Sea which has proven to be quite a strong race at Ascot in May.

This has always been a horse that was expected to thrive over this distance considering he went over this trip on just his second ever career run in April 2025.

Won two Class 2 handicaps in a row and looks to make it a hattrick.

Danielle

William Buick is on board another John & Thady Gosden-trained star, they are both in great form recently and this mare is in the form of her life.

Danielle was only beaten by Kalpana by five lengths which of course is great form from the Group 1 at Ascot in October.

She then won by a huge nine lengths on heavy ground over 1m2f before winning again over 1m6f at York in May, got to win again in this field.
