Bournemouth vs Manchester United Bet Builder Boosted to 16/1

Manchester United proved they can bounce back under Michael Carrick when recovering from a loss at Newcastle to beat Aston Villa 3-1 last Sunday and they will be keen to follow up as they bid to move within four points of second-placed rivals Manchester City.

However, they are not guaranteed to do so with a long and tricky trip to Bournemouth up next on Friday.

The Cherries have gone 10 Premier League games without a defeat and have the talent to make life difficult for their visitors at the Vitality Stadium.

Cherries can burst Carrick’s bubble

United were impressive in their 3-1 win over top-four rivals Aston Villa but that continued a trend of their best performances coming against top, attacking teams, with the Red Devils also beating Arsenal and City under Carrick.

The Red Devils were far less impressive in narrow wins over Everton, Fulham and 10-man Crystal Palace, as well as when drawing with West Ham, and Bournemouth are very capable of springing an upset.

The Cherries have lost only two of their 15 Premier League home matches this season and with that run including a win over Liverpool and draws with Chelsea, Newcastle and Aston Villa, they look a big price to take three points on Friday.

Andoni Iraola is a top manager who will know how to limit Bruno Fernandes’ impact on the game and that may leave Carrick short of ideas.

Take the Cherries/draw double chance option, as while Bournemouth look a great pick to win, Bournemouth’s last four games have finished level.

Top-class Tavernier to light up the Vitality

Bournemouth star Marcus Tavernier stole the show in December’s 4-4 draw at Old Trafford, scoring one goal and setting up another, and he can punish United’s still-unreliable defence again.

The Red Devils have managed only two clean sheets in eight games, so the English forward should get plenty of chances to let fly, something he loves to do.

Tavernier has taken 13 shots in three starts since returning from injury and it is only a matter of time before he bags a sixth goal of the campaign.

Shaw set for a tricky evening

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has returned to a left-back role since Ruben Amorim’s departure and while he has impressed in his favoured position, his chronic injuries means he lacks the pace and power he once possessed.

That often leads to mistimed challenges from the England full-back and it would be no surprise to see him pick up a sixth yellow card of the season at the Vitality Stadium.

Shaw will be tasked with keeping tabs on Rayan, Bournemouth’s powerful speedster who will be buzzing after receiving a maiden Brazil call-up and is proving to be a handful for Premier League defenders.
