Bears create $17 million in cap space with 3 contract tweaks
The Chicago Bears are almost a week away from opening their season against the Carolina Panthers, and many are expecting a big year from the team. As for general manager Ryan Poles, his plan is to build a complete team, and that never stops, which is maybe why he restructured the contracts of several players this late in the offseason.
“The Bears have restructured the contracts of G Joe Thuney, DE Dayo Odeyingbo and LB TJ Edwards, creating ~$17M in 2026 salary cap space,” ESPN’s Field Yates wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
