The final Classic of the flat racing season, the historic St Leger Festival, is almost here.
The famous meeting takes place over four days at Doncaster Racecourse and features the oldest horse race in the world – the St Leger Stakes.

The St Leger Stakes, the oldest and longest of Britain’s five Classic races, marks its 250th anniversary in 2026, having first been run way back in 1776.
Aidan O’Brien-trained Scandinavia took victory last year, ridden by Tom Marquand.
And it’s nearly time to do it all again…
St Leger Festival 2026: Dates and start times
This year’s St Leger Festival runs from Thursday, September 10 to Sunday, September 13.
It features 31 races in all, with eight on each of the first three days and seven on the final day.
Racing begins at 1:15pm on Thursday and Friday, with the final race on both days starting at 5:20pm.
On Saturday, the action gets underway at 1:10pm BST with the last race at 5:23pm.
And on Sunday, the first race is at 1:25pm and the final one at 4:50pm.
Each of the days has its own distinct theme.
