Avalanche’s Martin Necas suffers injury scare in Game 4 after Tomas Hertl hit

The Colorado Avalanche are fighting for their lives in Game 4. The Avalanche are trailing on the scoreboard and need something to break their way if they want to continue playing. Things nearly got even worse when Martin Necas appeared to suffer a scary injury.

Necas was chasing a loose puck in the offensive zone in the second period. As he attempted to cross the blueline for the puck, he took a hip check from Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl. Necas needed to be assisted off the ice after this hit. And perhaps controversially, on-ice officials did not penalize Hertl for this play.

Despite how bad this injury looked, it did not deter Necas. The Avalanche forward returned to the ice shortly after being helped off. He took a shift before the second period ended on Tuesday night.
