Aston Villa offered two Chelsea outcasts after £117m Morgan Rogers deal

The World Cup is over but there is no time for any post-tournament blues with the transfer market now in full swing.

Aston Villa have £117million in cash burning a hole in their pocket, but could they invest it in players from Chelsea?

Also this week we reveal Marcus Rashford’s stance on a possible move to Turkey.

Plus England World Cup hero Djed Spence is on the radar of an Italian giant.

Chelsea duo offered to cash-rich Villa

Aston Villa have been offered the chance to sign Chelsea outcasts Alejandro Garnacho and Nicolas Jackson.

Villa have already done business with Chelsea by selling them Morgan Rogers for a British record £117m fee.

talkSPORT understands that during those negotiations, the prospect of Villa swooping for Garnacho and Jackson was raised.

Villa were one of the clubs interested in Garnacho when he left Manchester United for Chelsea last summer and the Argentine is available for around £42m.

Jackson, who spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, played under Villa boss Unai Emery at Villarreal.

Villa are in the market for reinforcements after losing Rogers and Youri Tielemans and with Lucas Digne on the brink of completing his move to PSG.

Surprise suitor emerges in race for Rashford

Fenerbahce are interested in want-away Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford.

Rashford is enjoying a post-World Cup holiday before returning to Carrington to begin pre-season training.

While there remains a slim chance the England international is reintegrated into United’s first team, the preference on all sides is that he is sold.

As previously reported, his wages in excess of £325,000-a-week are proving a major stumbling block.

Big-spending Fener are tracking the situation, however sources close to Rashford have suggested he is not keen on a move to Turkey.

Rashford’s dream option is to re-join Barcelona, but that seems unlikely after they paid £70m for Three Lions teammate Anthony Gordon.

Spence’s Italian job

Italian giants Inter Milan are among the clubs keen on Tottenham defender Djed Spence.

talkSPORT reported last week that Spurs are open to offers for Spence to help fund Roberto de Zerbi’s summer rebuild.

Inter were impressed with Spence’s performances for England at the World Cup.

The full-back made four starts and four substitute appearances to help the Three Lions to their best finish since 1966.

Spence, 25, is also believed to have suitors in the Premier League.

Third time the charm for Sky Blues?

Coventry remain hopeful of signing Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth despite having two offers rejected.

The Sky Blues’ latest offer is thought to be a club record £25m, but the Seagulls are holding out for closer to £30m as well as a potential buyback option.

Sources have told talkSPORT Rushworth is keen to make the move after helping Frank Lampard’s men end their Premier League exile last season.
