Haydock

• 13:25 – The Lost King 15/2 e/w (1pt)

The Lost King

Tipped Persica two weeks ago but trainer Richard Hannon hasn’t had a winner in quite a few runs which makes him a bit tougher to side with this time.

Andrew Balding is in decent form recently and this horse The Lost King has proven himself well recently too with two wins on the bounce at York and should go well at Haydock.

Kind Of Blue

Almeraq won by a nose at Royal Ascot ahead of Satono Reve at 25/1 but then placed far back in the July Cup Stakes at Newmarket, a very unexpected run after those four wins in previous six runs.

Kind Of Blue is ready to bounce back though, had a couple months off since Royal Ascot and placed close here in this race last year behind Big Mojo when there were 17 runners and should go well.

Tornado Alert

There’s a big story line this weekend at Kempton, Constitution Hill is back but this time a 5/1 shot in the Group 3 September Stakes where he requires a big step up, but still stands a chance.

He’s nine-years-old and needs a top three finish to gain entry into the Melbourne Cup in November.

He’s rated 101 but has numerous horses well ahead in the ratings – but there are lots of question marks for a few of these.

Gethin hasn’t proven himself over 1m4f just yet, at least at this level despite placing second behind the impressive Ombudsman, but that was over 1m2f.

Tornado Alert had his first start over 1m4f, since running the Derby last year, running in the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Berlin going just one length off of Tiffany despite just over a year away from the track.

Oisin Murphy is back on board the Godolphin-owned horse and looks set for a big run.
