Anthony Edwards gets encouraging status update before Game 3 vs. Nuggets
Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves snatched a crucial Game 2 win over the Denver Nuggets. This despite the NBA All-Star dealing with a bad knee. Will his ailment linger into Game 3?
Insider Brett Siegel for ClutchPoints revealed an update ahead of the NBA Playoffs showdown.
“The Timberwolves have listed Anthony Edwards as questionable to play in Game 3 against the Nuggets due to his right knee injury management,” Siegel posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.
However, Siegel adds: “Edwards is expected to be available.”
Minnesota will not sit its star, especially with the series shifting back to the Target Center.
Edwards dropped 30 points in silencing the Ball Arena crowd. He also pulled off the scoring feat in 40 minutes, bum knee and all. The star guard also pulled down 10 rebounds in the 119-114 road win.
This series now comes with a war of words.
Jaden McDaniels sparked some bulletin board and social media material after Game 2. He dropped this stirring take via Chris Hines of The Minnesota Star Tribune.
“Go at (Nikola) Jokic, Jamal (Murray), all the bad defenders. Tim Hardaway, Cam Johnson, Aaron Gordon, their whole team. Just go at them. Yeah, they’re all bad defenders,” McDaniels boldly said. “They don’t have people who can defend the rim. If they have, we’re still more athletic than they are. We just gotta be able to finish what we do.”
Cam Johnson downplayed McDaniels’ trash talk, though.
“They just been saying a lot. All season, all series. Let them talk. Let them get everything they want off their chest. We’re cool with it,” Johnson said via DNVR Nuggets.
