Aliyah Boston offers wholesome reaction to historic Fever contract
Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston reacted with gratitude after agreeing to a historic four-year, $6.3 million contract extension, the richest total salary in league history.
Boston kept her response simple when asked about the deal.
“Super blessed. God is great, man … to get that extension … I’m super excited about it,” Boston told reporters Sunday, shared in a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, but The Athletic reporter James Boyd. “Once the CBA was finalized, my agent handled all of that. I’d just sit back, watch a good show and wait for him to call me.”
The extension comes following the implementation of the league’s new collective bargaining agreement, which allows players like Boston — a three-time All-Star and All-WNBA selection — to benefit from the EPIC provision. The deal replaces what she was set to earn in 2026 and accelerates her path to a maximum-level salary.

Boston’s new contract reflects her central role in Indiana’s roster construction. The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft has been a consistent presence for the Fever, coming off a season in which she averaged 15 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 53.8% from the field.
Her production proved especially important during an injury-affected year for the team. Boston helped lead Indiana to the playoffs, where the Fever advanced to the semifinals before being eliminated by the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces.
The extension also comes as Indiana continues to retain its core, with several key contributors returning such as Sophia Cunningham, Lexie Hull and Kelsey Mitchell, as the franchise builds toward the 2026 season. Caitlin Clark will also be making her return after only playing 13 games last season due to injury.
