Alex Scott and Jason Steele handed surprise World Cup roles despite missing out on England squad
Alex Scott will travel with the England squad to their pre-World Cup training camp despite missing out on the squad, talkSPORT understands.
Thomas Tuchel confirmed his selection for the summer showpiece on Friday morning, with Elliot Anderson, Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson and Kobbie Mainoo the central midfielders to make the cut.

However, due to the Champions League final at the end of the month, the Arsenal players will not link up with the squad until a later date.
“We will bring some promising young players to come out with us and train with us, to make sure we can train properly,” Tuchel said after the squad announcement.
Scott was called up to the England squad in November for the first time as the Three Lions faced Serbia and Albania, but he didn’t make an appearance.
Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele will travel to the States for the pre-World Cup training camp and take up a surprise role on England’s coaching staff.
Dean Henderson is set to arrive later due to Crystal Palace being in the Conference League final.
