Adrian Durham: Giant chilli dogs were ‘huge mess’ and ‘iconic’ MLB stadium should host World Cup Final – not the ‘giant car’ in New Jersey
The Houston Astros’ Daikin Park. Yankee Stadium in New York. Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox.
With 38 World Series titles between the three of them, they are just some of the iconic baseball ballparks visited by talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham following England around the United States during the 2026 World Cup.

Durham has travelled all over the US for the best part of two months, and when he hasn’t been following the Three Lions, he has been making the most of his time experiencing new cultures across some of America’s major sports.
Having had the honour to visit five different Major League Baseball stadiums – including one where talkSPORT hosted a show from – during his trip, he has ranked the top five ballparks based on his experience.
5. Daikin Park – Houston Astros
I saw them face the Cleveland Guardians and the most enjoyable part was the train running across the tracks slowly when there was a home run.

4. Globe Life Field – Texas Rangers
This was the first ballpark we visited on the trip, and it was sensationally good, indoor with an outdoor feel.
Hot dogs were good, the giant chilli dogs less impressive, as they fell apart and made a huge mess (as Stu found out).
Not a great game against the Minnesota Twins, but you don’t go to baseball for the game, you go for the social side of it.

3. Truist Park – Atlanta Braves
We hosted a talkSPORT show from this stadium and it was terrific.
New stadium but with an old school baseball feel, the surrounding areas are modern but full of restaurants and it has a real feel good vibe about it.

2. Yankee Stadium – New York Yankees
The last one we visited on the trip, we saw the World Champions LA Dodgers win against the Yankees in a game which included a stunning monster home run from Max Muncy.
Iconic stadium, wish it could’ve been converted to host the World Cup final instead of the giant car, the MetLife, which isn’t even in New York.

1. Fenway Park – Boston Red Sox
Here’s a weird fact: I’ve been to Fenway twice but never seen baseball.
I’ve been slightly obsessed with Fenway ever since I saw the wonderful film Field of Dreams when I was a teenager.
There’s a scene set in Fenway. I had a tour of it around ten years ago, and then on this trip Stuart, Jim, our engineer James and me went to see Mumford and Sons there the night before England played at Boston in the group stage.
Arguably the most iconic sports venue in the world, as Stu said it “reeks of history.”
The gig was terrific, the venue fantastic, and they even gave us free hot dogs on the way out.
