Yankees star Cody Bellinger recalls winding journey back to All-Star game
New York Yankees star Cody Bellinger reflected on his long road back to the MLB All-Star Game after earning MVP honors in the American League’s 4-0 victory over the National League on Tuesday night.
The Yankees outfielder delivered a two-run single in the first inning that supplied the decisive runs at Citizens Bank Park.
SNY Yankees shared Bellinger’s postgame comments on X, formerly Twitter, as he discussed returning to the event for the first time since 2019.
“My first few years in the big leagues, I was here I think two of my first three years and I was like, ‘oh, I’ll be here every year.’ Took a long time to get back. It’s such a competitive league. It’s hard to be an All-Star.”
