Yankees’ Aaron Judge reaches uncharted 2026 territory amid Orioles clash

Aaron Judge may be a year older, as he just turned 34 years of age on the 26th of April, but he keeps on aging like fine wine. On Monday night, the Yankees destroyed the Baltimore Orioles to the tune of a 12-1 victory, and once more, Judge was the star of the show for the team in pinstripes.

Judge went 2-4 on the night against the Orioles, hitting a home run and driving in four total runs. He is the driving force behind the Yankees’ offense that has scored 192 runs thus far this season, second-most in MLB (behind just the Atlanta Braves). With New York moving to 24-11 on the season, Judge is once again emerging as the favorite to win the AL MVP award.

It’s extremely difficult to make a case against Judge in this respect. He now has 14 home runs and 27 runs batted in on the season thus far, and his OPS is at a bonkers 1.057. In fact, he’s the only player in MLB thus far in 2026 to have at least 10 home runs, 25 runs batted in, 25 walks, and five stolen bases, according to StatMuse on X (formerly Twitter).

There is no slowing down Judge, and the Yankees are off to an excellent start to the 2026 campaign thanks to their MVP’s consistently excellent performances.

Considering how long the MLB regular season is, it is ridiculously difficult to show up on a nightly basis. But having the ability to do so is what separates the superstars from the rest of the pack. And Judge has been the best player in MLB not named Shohei Ohtani for a while now just because of his sheer reliability for the Yankees.

Judge has already won the AL MVP award thrice in his career. And while it’s ridiculously early in the 2026 season still, he might as well prepare more room in his trophy cabinet if he keeps up this level of play.
