WWE’s Roman Reigns reacts to Brock Lesnar’s retirement decision with emotional tribute

Despite their years-long feud that lasted almost a decade, Roman Reigns wished Brock Lesnar well after the “Beast Incarnate” retired from WWE.

Following Lesnar’s loss to Oba Femi at SummerSlam, he appeared to retire. In the wake of this news, Reigns posted a video tribute to his longtime rival.

He called it an “absolute pleasure” to work with Lesnar throughout the years. He knows that the “Beast” is a one-of-a-kind talent, and he acknowledged him. Their WrestleMania 31 matchup was life-changing for the “Tribal Chief.” Even though he lost, he learned a lot.

“I don’t think there will ever be another Brock Lesnar. What he was able to do. What he was able to create. To go out on his own, to go to UFC, to become a World Heavyweight Champion,” Reigns said. “And then to be able to come back and do both, it’s the legitimacy, the athlete that he is, the realism that he brought from the UFC, to the UFC, to WWE in our ring.

“He’s gotta be one of the greatest pro-wrestlers of all time. When you put it all together, no one’s done it like him. No one will ever do it like him, I don’t think,” he continued.

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar’s WWE feud

Lesnar and Reigns had a long history in WWE. Their first match was at WrestleMania 31. Reigns challenged Lesnar for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, neither walked out champion, as Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and won the title.

They would have several matches throughout the years. Their feud would be reignited in 2021 upon Lesnar’s return. Reigns and Lesnar seemingly ended their feud at SummerSlam 2022. However, it would once again be reignited when Lesnar joined the team that faced Reigns’ team at Survivor Series: WarGames in November 2025.
