WWE icon AJ Styles defends TKO amid recent controversies
A ten-year WWE veteran, AJ Styles recently retired against Gunther in Jan. 2026, before getting inducted into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame. A respected WWE and pro-wrestling veteran, Styles recently came to TKO’s defense amid the ongoing fan backlash.
Ever since TKO has taken over WWE, fans have been highly critical of how they have been running things. With the increase and influx of advertisements into almost everything, WWE Superstars receiving pay cuts, the same storylines repeating, and many more, fans have voiced their concerns about almost everything on social media. While WWE President Nick Khan recently claimed that the company does not pay heed to social media criticisms, fans have continued being critical about things.
Recently, speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, AJ Styles’ co-host Tony Giles mentioned the controversies since TKO took over. However, Styles came to TKO’s defense and said, “You’ve got to understand, that is their job to take the blame for everything that is going on, and that’s their responsibility. We are the head of this thing, and so we take all the blame. That’s our job, and we have to live with it.
“But we also, if they do something right, we need to give a praise. With AAA, they did something right. We can praise them for that with other things. Maybe they’ve done wrong, freak it that kind of sucked. We’re entitled to opinions and stuff like that. But at the same time, you can’t be boo-boo face about everything that’s going on because there is some good things that are going on with TKO. It’s not going to be perfect all the time, nobody is,” Styles finished.
While there have been a few things which fans disliked, they have also heavily heaped praise on The Undertaker running AAA in Mexico, as well as the recently concluded El Grande Americano storyline.
