Wrexham could lose top scorer this summer as former manager eyes reunion
Rangers have made an approach to sign Wrexham’s top scorer Josh Windass this summer, talkSPORT understands.
The Scottish giants wanted to sign Windass in January, but their advances were turned down by the Championship side.

That was the second time that they had made a move for the 32-year-old, who played 73 games for the club from 2016 to 2018.
Windass admitted that he chose to sign for Wrexham over Rangers when he moved on from Sheffield Wednesday last year.
But Danny Rohl’s men are making another bid for their man – and it’s the Gers’ manager who is pushing for it.
Rohl worked with Windass in Sheffield, with the pair spending two seasons together and the forward netting 50 goals.
Now, the boss wants to reunite with his former star, who remains in form in front of goal a couple of years on.
Windass ended the Championship season as Wrexham’s top goalscorer, netting 16 times in the second tier.
No Red Dragons player has ever scored as much at that level; Windass also provided five assists in his 41 league games this term.
There are currently no talks ongoing between the two clubs, according to talkSPORT’s transfer guru Ben Jacobs.
And Wrexham did not want to sell Windass in January when Rangers made an approach during the winter transfer window.
But whether they would be open to letting their Player of the Season go this summer is unknown as things stand.

Windass speaks on future
Windass gave an update on where he personally stands on his future at Wrexham when speaking to talkSPORT earlier this month.
And he appeared to confirm that he wouldn’t be going anywhere.
When pressed whether he can confirm his plan is to stay, he said: “Yeah, I signed a three-year deal in the summer.
“I feel like I had a really good year this year, and yeah, hopefully next year we can go one better.”
As Windass said, he signed a three-year contract last summer, tying him down at the Racecourse Ground until 2028.
It means Wrexham are in a strong position when it comes to keeping him at the club amid the interest from Rangers, especially if they are aiming to secure a place in the Premier League next season.

This term, the Hollywood-owned side narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship play-offs, finishing seventh.
Meanwhile, Rangers finished third in the Scottish Premiership, having failed to remain in the title race with rivals Celtic and Hearts.
talkSPORT understands that Lawrence Shankland is in advanced talks to join the club from Hearts this summer.
But they appear to want to bolster their attacking options by bringing Windass back to Scotland too.
