3 things to watch for on World Cup 2026 Day 14

Here are three things to watch for and fun facts to amaze and entertain your friends with on Day 14 of the 2026 World Cup.
How will Group A shake out?
There isn’t a ton of drama in Group A, especially at the top, as Mexico is already going through as the winner. That leaves second and third place in doubt. If South Korea can grab three points against South Africa—which it should—then they will go through in second and take on the runners-up from Group B, likely Switzerland or Canada.
Third place is interesting. A Czechia win gets them four points, which will almost certainly see them through, and a big win could even put them ahead of South Korea. However, if they lose and South Africa draws or wins, they could sneak into the next round instead.
What will happen in Group B?
If you’re looking for winner-take-all drama, that comes in Group B. Canada and Switzerland go head-to-head for the group title, with the winner getting a third-place outfit in the Round of 32 and the loser facing the second-place Group A team (probably South Korea).
Bosnia-Herzegovina will be looking to put up a lopsided score on Qatar, which will be without Homam Ahmed and Assim Madibo after red cards vs. Canada. If they can do that and Canada beats Switzerland handily, there is a small chance Bosnia-Herzegovina can sneak into the two spot. Otherwise, they will be the USMNT’s most likely opponent in the next round.
Where will the teams finish in Group C?
Brazil and Morocco should be going through, but in which order and what place? Morocco needs to put up a big score against Haiti to grab first, and the Brazil-Scotland game should be interesting. Scotland may be able to back in with a loss, but a draw should guarantee they move on. A win by the Tartan Army would throw the group into chaos, with Scotland moving on—possibly even in first—and Brazil probably advancing as well, albeit in third place.
