Wimbledon winner in stitches after accidentally breaking trophy
Wimbledon wheelchair men’s singles champion Tokito Oda accidentally broke his trophy moments after winning the title.
The ten-time Grand Slam winner beat Briton Alfie Hewitt 6-1 6-1 in Sunday’s final at the All England Club.

However, the joy at winning a third Wimbledon singles title could have turned to despair after a mishap at the start of his post-match press conference.
The 20-year-old damaged his trophy by accidentally dropping it on the floor.
Oda was left in hysterics after placing the silverware back on the table, revealing the damage that had been done during his post-match press conference.
The silver cup was left wonky as a result, but the Japanese tennis ace did not appear too bothered by the damage.
As he sat down, Oda struggled to contain his laughter as he admitted: “Actually, I dropped my trophy.”
When asked what happened by a reporter, he explained: “I just held it here (on the table) and then it fell down by accident and it looks like art right now.”
As well as the trophy, Oda has scooped £100,000 in prize money from this year’s tournament.
His singles victory secured an £82,000 payday for the reigning Olympic champion.
Meanwhile, he also won £18,000 by reaching the final of the doubles alongside Gustavo Fernandez.
The pair were beaten 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 by British duo Hewitt and Gordon Reid on Saturday.

Who is Tokito Oda?
Oda has now won all three Grand Slam titles on offer so far this year in the wheelchair men’s singles.
His victory at Wimbledon followed triumphs at the Australian Open and French Open.
It gives him the chance to complete a calendar Grand Slam at the US Open in New York next month.
As the defending champion, Oda is already the current holder of all four Grand Slam titles.
Meanwhile, he won Paralympic gold in the singles in Paris two years ago. His medal triumph came alongside winning silver in the doubles with Takuya Miki.
Overall, the world No.1 has won ten Grand Slam titles since 2023, with his first coming whilst aged just 17.
