Dodgers’ Dave Roberts sets ‘trending’ date for Shohei Ohtani’s pitching return
It appears that Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is close to making his return to the mound in the big leagues.
Ohtani is said to be on schedule to have a bullpen session before a potential start in the upcoming series against the Detroit Tigers (h/t Jack Harris of the California Post).
“Shohei Ohtani update: Dave Roberts said he will actually throw his bullpen on Friday, in anticipation of a possible start Sunday (Ohtani usually throws his bullpens two days before starts),” Harris shared via a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. “They’ll see how his ‘pen goes, but he’s definitely trending toward starting Sunday.”
