Why Packers have not seen Josh Jacobs’ alleged incriminating video

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List before the start of the season, as he is facing battery and criminal damage to property charges after an alleged physical altercation with his girlfriend. It’s said that surveillance video in Jacobs’ security system at his home in Hobart, Wisconsin, caught the alleged incident and is being used in the court hearings.

When asked about the video footage, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst admitted that neither he nor the organization has seen the video, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN. Gutekunst claimed that the alleged video evidence is not for him or the franchise to see at this time.

“We have not seen the video,” Gutekunst said Tuesday. “Again, those are legal things going on right now, so we’ll let those play out. That’s really not for us, but in the appropriate times, if those things become available, we’ll figure that stuff out when that time comes.”

Josh Jacobs is currently out indefinitely for his alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident. It’s said that the surveillance footage showcases the 28-year-old running back grab his girlfriend and throw her to the ground in his garage, which caused her to hit her head and damage her phone.

He was initially booked on several accounts including a felony strangulation charge. However, Jacobs now only faces misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property charges.
