West Ham head into Friday night’s crunch Premier League clash as favourites for victory in a match which gives them the chance to climb out of the relegation zone for the first time since early December.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side head into the weekend sat in 18th place, one point behind Tottenham, and know that picking up all three points but see them leapfrog their London rivals and make the prospect of a previously unthinkable relegation for the north London side all the more real.
The Hammers will be looking for their first win in four matches though, having been beaten in their most recent outings by Aston Villa in the league prior to the international break and were knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties by Leeds at the quarter final stage last weekend.
The east London side have won only one of their last six Premier League matches and only two teams have won fewer home games in the top flight than the Irons, though they do head into Friday unbeaten across their last seven home matches when excluding extra time, admittedly only winning one of those.

Wolves make the trip to the capital sat rock bottom of the Premier League table, sat three points adrift in last place and 13 points from safety with just seven games to play and a defeat on Friday would leave them 15 points from safety with just six games remaining.
Relegation back to the Championship for Rob Edwards’ side seems a formality at this point, as it has done for much of the season in truth, but the West Midlands side have not been going down without a fight by any stretch.
Wolves head to the London Stadium having picked up seven points out of nine from their last three matches, a run which includes victories over Aston Villa and Liverpool, two of the Premier League’s current top five who are both fighting for Champions League football next season.
The Wolverhampton side do have by far the worst away record in the Premier League so far this season though, having picked up just five points from their 15 matches on their travels and are yet to pick up a single win in the league.
They have, however, only lost two of their last seven matches on the road in all competitions, including taking points off Manchester United, Brentford and Everton – three teams currently occupying the top eight positions.
Recent history also favours the visitors ahead of Friday’s clash, with Wolves having won their last three matches against West Ham, including two wins this season, but have lost on each of their last five visits to the London Stadium.
