Warriors’ Draymond Green calls out Devin Booker’s ‘lie’ to Scott Foster
Things got testy near the end of the Golden State Warriors-Phoenix Suns Play-In Tournament game after Draymond Green seemed to have hit Devin Booker to draw a foul to stop the clock. Now, days after the 111-96 loss to Phoenix, Green attempts to clear the air, claiming that Booker lied to NBA official Scott Foster about being punched.
In the latest episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” the 36-year-old power forward called Booker a liar for informing Foster that Green had punched him. Green says that because his fist was not closed, it can’t be a punch, and that he was simply trying to foul the Suns’ superstar to stop the clock. Draymond Green also provided some context to the verbal jabs that led to both his and Devin Booker’s ejections.
“Devin Booker told Scott Foster that I punched him in the stomach, which is a lie,” said Green. “Number one, a punch is with a closed fist. Very obvious I was taking a foul. I was standing on the sideline, Book was shooting a free-throw, and I was saying, ‘Yo, Book! I punched you?’ And I just kept saying, ‘So, I punched you?’
“Finally, he was like, ‘Man, I said I moved on, Dray.’ He got a little testy and started making some comments, so I made some comments back to him,” continued Green. “He thought I was calling him a choice word, which I was not calling him, I was calling Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green that.”

Although the 14-year veteran claims he didn’t punch Devin Booker, the video looks like he did. Even by Green’s definition of a punch, his actions toward the Suns’ five-time All-Star appeared to be a hit in the midsection. No matter the case, the Warriors are sitting at home watching the Suns participate in the playoffs.
