Video of Steve Kerr’s powerful locker room speech after Warriors’ play-in win emerges
The Golden State Warriors kept their season alive with a 126-121 play-in win over the Los Angeles Clippers. The game was almost entirely decided by Stephen Curry’s second-half eruption, who finished with 35 points and four assists off 12-23 shooting.
Post-game, head coach Steve Kerr gave a resounding speech to his players, congratulating them for their grit, per a post on X by ClutchPoints.
“I just wanna say this, though. We have had a lot of huge wins in our time here, and obviously with more at stake but this is just what it is about man. That was one of the most incredible games I’ve ever seen you guys play. We were down 10 five or six different times. The grit, the heart, the way you guys battled back,” he said.

The Warriors have won the championship four times under Kerr and his comments exemplify exactly how well they played against the odds. Golden State trailed by 13 points with 9:53 remaining (98-85) but closed the game on a 16-6 run, flipping the game for a five-point win. Curry scored 27 of his 35 points after halftime, including 16 in a six-minute burst during the third quarter that prevented the game from getting out of reach.
His seventh three-pointer, on 7-of-12 shooting from deep, broke a tie with 50.4 seconds left and ultimately served as the game-winner. Golden State held Kawhi Leonard scoreless through most of the fourth quarter, limiting him to just two points until the final 16 seconds. Meanwhile, Al Horford delivered four fourth-quarter three-pointers, including a go-ahead three with 2:12 remaining, which took the game to 117-115.
Gui Santos finished with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Kristaps Porzingis also scored 20, alongside five assists and five rebounds. The Clippers controlled most of the game prior to the collapse.
Bennedict Mathurin led them with 23 points, while Darius Garland contributed 21 points and eight assists. The win means that the Warriors advance to face the Phoenix Suns, with the winner securing the Western Conference’s eighth seed and a first-round matchup against the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
