Anthony Edwards surpassed Dwyane Wade in an incredible list throughout NBA playoff history following the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Game 4 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night.
In 40 minutes of action, Edwards was relentless against the San Antonio defense. He finished with a stat line of 36 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal. He shot 13-of-22 from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Edwards’ efforts allowed him to make NBA playoff history, per StatMuse and ESPN Insights. He initially tied Dwyane Wade in playoff points by a player younger than 25 years old before passing him later on in Game 4.

How Anthony Edwards, Timberwolves played against Spurs
Anthony Edwards came through in the clutch for the Timberwolves, scoring 16 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter. This paved the way for Minnesota to beat the Spurs in Game 4 and even up the series at two games apiece.
Perimeter shooting and rebounding made the difference in this matchup. The Timberwolves prevailed in both categories after making 10 3-pointers on a 37% clip while securing 49 rebounds. It wasn’t the same for the Spurs as they only made six triples on 23% accuracy and grabbed 41 rebounds.
Six players scored in double-digits for Minnesota in the win, including Edwards. Naz Reid was great off the bench with 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Jaden McDaniels came next with 14 points and six rebounds, Julius Randle had 12 points and eight rebounds, while Rudy Gobert put up 11 points and 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Ayo Dosunmu provided 10 points and five rebounds.
The Timberwolves will look to take back the series lead when they face the Spurs on the road in Game 5. The contest commences on May 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
