The stunning facts behind Jannik Sinner’s historic early French Open exit after cramping difficulties

The French Open got crazy in the second round between top-ranked Jannik Sinner and 56th-ranked Juan Manuel Cerundolo. Sinner dropped 18 of the last 20 games after appearing to struggle with the heat, and he went from one game away from winning to losing in the second round.

With the loss, he made unfortunate history, according to The Tennis Letter.

“Jannik Sinner’s 2nd round loss at Roland Garros is the first time a male world No. 1 has lost in the first two rounds in the singles draw at this event since Andre Agassi in 2000. His 30 match win streak also comes to an end,” the Tennis Letter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

More on this story to come.
