Texans key CJ Stroud target making training camp return from injury

The Houston Texans are getting to it in training camp, and CJ Stroud is looking to grow chemistry with his offensive weapons on the field. He’ll be able to do so with another player, as he just got activated from the Non-Football Injury list, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter,

“Texans WR Jaylin Noel has been activated from the Non-Football Injury list,” Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Noel apparently had a hand issue, and he’ll be working his way back on the field starting today. There was a good chance that he could’ve been competing for first-team reps, but now he’ll be looking to get playing time over players such as Tank Dell and Lewis Bond.

Dell has also worked his way back from injury after missing all of last season. Head coach DeMeco Ryans spoke about having the receiver on the field as he’s been a limited participant so far.

“Tank is on the right plan,” coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Nothing’s changed in his plan. We’re progressing him on really well. We expect him to just continue to progress with how he’s feeling.

“There’s no set way of doing it. It’ll be based on how he’s feeling. We’ll do the right thing by Tank and make sure we approach it the right way. Take care of him the right way, so he can be feeling confident when he steps back out there for team drills.”

It’ll be interesting to see how the wide receiver core shapes out for the Texans, and it’s up to CJ Stroud to make sure they’re all getting the ball.
