Terence Crawford’s trainer sets record straight on ‘Bud’ comeback after return to training
Terence Crawford’s long-time trainer, Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre, has shot down rumours that the boxing legend is on the cusp of a comeback.
Crawford hung up his gloves in December of last year after dethroning undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez to become a five-division title holder.

‘Bud’ had considered sticking around for a four-belt shootout at middleweight.
But when a WBA, IBF and WBO 160lbs unification clash between Erislandy Lara and Janibek Alimkhanuly collapsed due to the latter’s failed drug test, Crawford opted to call time on his career.
The 38-year-old has repeatedly doubled down on his retirement when quizzed by the media on the possibility of a return to the ring.
However, speculation surrounding a comeback grew last week when footage emerged of Crawford returning to training.
While the comment section was filled with excited fans, McIntyre insists Crawford is back in the gym solely to help his stablemate Lester Martinez prepare for his upcoming clash with Luka Plantic on August 29.
Terence Crawford isn’t coming back
Speaking during a recent appearance on the Last Stand Podcast with Brian Custer, McIntyre said: “Bud loves the environment that he created.
“The environment we created together as a team.
“He knew we were in camp, so he just wanted to come out and get some work in to see where he is at and to have some fun with Lester.
“He brought Lester under his wing on his undercard, and Lester jumped to the top of the charts after that.
“Terence has always been a big supporter of Lester, and he has come out to show him a few things and work out with him for a few days.
“Bud is done; he has said he is done, and I respect his decision.
“I want him to be done because he had nothing left to prove in the sport.
“But I love having him around the other fighters to motivate them.
“They are all trying to get to the pinnacle of the sport where he got to.
“So that is one of the reasons he came out.
“Not to get ready for a fight. He just wants to stay in shape.”
