Teofimo Lopez Beats Rolando Romero to Win WBA Title
Teofimo Lopez became a three-weight world champion by defeating Rolando “Rolly” Romero via majority decision in Las Vegas. Lopez controlled much of the 12-round WBA welterweight title fight with his jab, movement and higher punch output, overcoming Romero’s dangerous power to rebound from his January loss to Shakur Stevenson and claim the belt.
