Bet of the day

Montevideo Wanderers to beat Danubio @ 5/4

Our bet of the day comes from Liga AUF Uruguaya as Montevideo Wanderers take on Danubio.

After three matches of the Intermedio stage, the home side sit on five points after registering a win and two draws.

Danubio, however, have lost their opening two matches and sit bottom of group B.

Wanderers won the last meeting 2-1 between these two in March, and given the contrasting form of both sides, expect something similar this time around.

The home side have lost just one of their last six games, while Danubio haven’t won a game since April 24, entering this tie on the back of a four-match losing run.

Bet builder

Paraguay to win, over 2.5 goals and both teams to score against Nicaragua @ 95/40

Paraguay are returning to the World Cup for the first time since 2010 and the South American side face Nicaragua in their final friendly before the tournament.

Gustavo Alfaro’s men lost 2-1 to Morocco in their last outing in March, ending a two-game winning streak, but there were plenty of positives to take from that defeat.

Paraguay have the quality in their ranks to pick up the win over Nicaragua, who are without a win in three games.

Add in over 2.5 goals to this bet builder, which has landed in four of Paraguay’s last six assignments and in three of Nicaragua’s last six matches.

There also looks to be a strong chance of seeing goals at both ends, given Paraguay have kept just one clean sheet in six matches and Nicaragua have scored in three of their last five outings.

Longshot

Brian Gutierrez to score first for Mexico against Serbia @ 6/1

Mexico have won their last two games to nil, beating Ghana and Australia, extending their unbeaten streak to seven matches.

One player to keep an eye out for Mexico during the World Cup is attacking midfielder Brian Gutierrez, who has netted twice in six caps for his country.

During the 2-0 win over Ghana in May, the 22-year-old opened the scoring with a fine effort from outside of the box, capitalising on a defensive mistake from the goalkeeper.

Having been an unused substitute for the last game against Australia, he should be unleashed from the start against Serbia and looks capable of getting his side off to the perfect start.
