Sydney Sweeney gushes over ‘good luck charm’ Scooter Braun after Knicks win chip

Among the celebrities at Game 5 of the NBA Finals who got to watch the New York Knicks win a championship for the first time in 53 years were Sydney Sweeney and boyfriend Scooter Braun.

She was seemingly elated to be there. The Euphoria actress posted a series of photos and videos from the game. She was there with her cousin, who is seemingly a big Knicks fan. He was crying after New York won.

She also took a selfie with her boyfriend, reposting it on her story and dubbing Braun her “good luck charm.” They were both decked out in Knicks gear.

Why were Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun at the Knicks’ championship win?

Sweeney was at Game 5 of the NBA Finals, presumably to support her cousin and boyfriend, who are both Knicks fans. Braun was born and raised in New York, and he hasn’t seen the team win a championship in his lifetime.

The Knicks were able to close out the NBA Finals in five games on Saturday, June 13. New York held a 2-0 series lead as it came to New York City. However, they lost the third game of the series in front of their home crowd.

They would then stage a historic 29-point comeback vs. the Spurs in Game 4. This built momentum heading into Game 5, which the Knicks narrowly won by four points.

Jalen Brunson was named Finals MVP for his efforts. He averaged 32.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in the five games.

Game 5 was his crowning achievement. He played 41 of 42 minutes in the game, scoring 45 points and making over half of his shots. He also made 13 of his 15 free throws.

Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, and OG Anunoby also scored 14, 13, and 11 points, respectively. Karl-Anthony Towns only played 23 minutes and scored two points in Game 5. This was due to him getting into foul trouble early on.
