Suns rumors: Arizona fans will love possible trade up target
The Phoenix Suns come into the 2026 NBA Draft with no first round picks and one second round pick at No. 47. However, the Suns could look to trade up and into the first round of the NBA draft where they could possibly be targeting Arizona forward Koa Peat, as per NBA insider Jake L. Fischer.
And if it is indeed Peat whom the Suns are after, they likely won’t have to trade up very high as a late first round pick is probably enough to grab the Arizona forward. As per the latest mock draft from ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Siegel, Peat is a realistic option for the Denver Nuggets at No. 26.
With the Nuggets potentially looking to cut costs and avoid adding a guaranteed first round salary, No. 26 could be on the move via trade, and perhaps that’s the Suns’ chance. Although anyone who is getting Peat needs to be aware that he is a long-term project at the moment.
“When it comes to physicality and strength, Peat checks off the boxed to be in the league right now. However, his jump shot will need a lot of work if he is to have a long NBA career,” Siegel reports. “Right now, Peat is nothing more than an athletic forward who can run in up-tempo systems, be a rebounding threat, and create havoc in transition as a rim-runner.”
Local Suns fans are certainly familiar with Peat as he played his lone season of college basketball at Arizona before declaring for the NBA Draft. He averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 36 games at a little over 26 minutes.
