Spurs 2026 NBA Mock Draft roundup after reaching NBA Finals

Just last year, the San Antonio Spurs held two lottery picks, including the second overall selection. They added Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant to a young and exciting core that had previously drafted Stephon Castle (fourth overall) and Victor Wembanyama (first overall) in the previous two drafts. Now, after nailing their rebuild, the Spurs will be playing in the NBA Finals.

The team will take on the New York Knicks, and they have a chance to win their sixth championship since 1999. Such a victory would be the first of this new era, though. Despite their immediate contention, the team is still built for the future, too. The team still has plenty of future draft picks, including the 20th pick and three additional second-rounders in the 2026 NBA Draft.

The draft will commence not long after the NBA Finals are over, so the team is already doing their due diligence with scouting reports. Who do the experts think San Antonio will draft, though? Here is a Spurs’ mock draft roundup looking at what some of the top draft experts in the industry think San Antonio will do come draft day.

There are a couple of hot candidates for the Spurs to select at pick 20. Both ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel and ESPN project the team to walk out of the first round with Jayden Quaintance. The Kentucky big man has had an unorthodox path to the draft. He started his collegiate career at Arizona State as a 17-year-old. There, he displayed serious defensive potential and an incredible motor, but a knee injury cut his season short. Quaintance continued to miss time because of the knee injury after transferring to Kentucky, and he played just four games for the Wildcats as a sophomore before declaring for the draft.

Quaintance doesn’t have much proven production, but the ceiling is sky high. Adding a defensive force to develop behind the Defensive Player of the Year makes a lot of sense for San Antonio. Allen Graves was also mocked to the Spurs by two sources, as both The Ringer and SI have the Santa Clara player going to San Antonio.

Graves’ offensive game is still developing. He averaged just 11.8 points per game as a bench player for Santa Clara. His defensive energy would be scary when paired next to Wembanyama, though. Graves wreaks havoc in the passing lanes, can guard at the point of attack, and offers some rim protection. Clearly, experts don’t think the Spurs need any more scoring, as Quaintance also averaged just 8.8 points per game over two seasons.

On top of pick 20, the Spurs have three second-round picks at their disposal. However, with an already deep roster and one trying to contend now, it seems unlikely that the team will select four rookies. Look for San Antonio to trade a couple of their second-round picks, especially with all of the talent withdrawing from the draft and returning to college. The 2026 NBA Draft class is one of the best in recent memory because of the top 20 talent, but the second-round will be thin with so many players choosing NIL over the NBA.

Matt Able, Tyler Tanner, Milan Momcilovic, and Flory Bidunga were all mocked to the Spurs recently, but each of them is returning to college. Regardless, San Antonio is going to have options come draft day. They already have a championship-caliber roster, so whatever they decide to do in the draft will be icing on the cake.
