Sophie Cunningham roasts herself with desperate desire for WNBA season glow-up

As the 2026 WNBA season begins, Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham wants to make a change to her appearance as the summer approaches.

The Fever posted their headshots of the players on social media. Cunningham reposted hers on her Instagram Stories, writing, “I need a tan dang it,” over it.

However, not everyone would agree with this sentiment. Cunningham’s photo received praise from fans in the comments, with one calling her “Barbie,” and another calling her the “definition of perfect.”

As fans know, Cunningham loves being by the pool. Perhaps doing some sunbathing could help if she wants to get a tan as the 2026 season gets underway.

Cunningham will return to the Fever for the 2026 season after re-signing with them on a one-year deal. She became an unrestricted free agent for the first time in 2026 after spending the 2025 season in Indiana.

She played in three preseason games before the regular season. Cunningham averaged 7.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

Her best performance was in her first game back when the Fever played the New York Liberty in the preseason. She scored 13 points and made five of her eight shot attempts. The Fever ended up winning the game by 18 points.

During the 2025 season, Cunningham had to step up in place of other injured stars like Caitlin Clark. She played in 30 games, starting 13 of them, before suffering a season-ending injury.

The Fever played the Connecticut Sun on Aug. 17, 2025. She went down during the first half with a knee injury, and it was later confirmed to be a torn MCL.

Luckily, she has made a full recovery within a year. Cunningham is back on the court and ready to go for the 2026 WNBA season. All signs point to her being back and better than ever.
