Skip Bayless warns Knicks about Thunder, Spurs during Game 4 blowout vs. Cavs
For years, it seemed like it was a pipe dream. But now, the New York Knicks are back in the NBA Finals after sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals on Monday.
The Knicks dominated the Cavaliers anew, 130-93, to finish the best-of-seven series in Game 4 at Rocket Arena. They have now won 11 straight games after also sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round.
New York is now waiting for the winner of the Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, who are tied at 2-2.
But during the blowout of the Cavaliers, it did not take long for sports commentator Skip Bayless to rain on the parade of the Knicks.
“The Knicks are BY FAR the best team in the East on offense and defense. But they’re in for a rude awakening versus the Spurs/Thunder defense after having to wait for a week or so,” claimed Bayless on X.
His longtime colleague Stephen A. Smith may have something to say about that.
The Knicks employed a balanced attack in Game 4, with six players scoring in double digits, led by Karl-Anthony Towns with 19 points. He added 14 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks.
Jalen Brunson had 15 points and five assists, while Landry Shamet chipped in 16 points on 4-of-4 shooting from long range in 19 minutes off the bench.
New York led by as much as 45 points, a reflection of the team’s superiority in what has been a fiery surge in the playoffs.
The Knicks are aiming for their first championship since 1973.
In the regular season, they were 0-2 versus the Thunder and 1-1 against the Spurs.
