Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson added to ‘Dancing With The Stars’ cast
Jackson Olson is trading the baseball diamond for the dance floor.
The Savannah Bananas player has been added to the cast of Dancing With The Stars for the show’s 35th season. The second baseman who is also known for sharing baseball insights, as well as family, food, and friends, as a content creator with over two million followers on TikTok, will be joining Summer House’s Ciara Miller and U.K. Love Island’s Maura Higgins. Deena Katz, who is the executive producer and casting head of DWTS, shared that choosing Miller was a no-brainer.
“I already knew Ciara. She was on Traitors, and she’s wonderful. She’s stunning, she’s gorgeous; she’s all these things,” Katz said of Miller to The Hollywood Reporter. “And then the stuff that happened to her, it was a really of the moment thing that we all felt like it was the right time. We really wanted her on the show, but it was also the right time to announce her.”
As for Higgins, she has already expressed interest in joining the show.
“[Maura] texts me every time she’s coming to L.A. She wants to have lunch. She’s been dying to do the show, and she’s fantastic. She’s great television,” Katz said. “[Maura] is exactly what our show is, and she’s having a moment right now, so that was a no brainer. And knowing what was going to happen with Traitors and seeing the buzz about her, she was fantastic.”
The rest of the Season 35 cast and their professional dance partners will be announced on Wednesday, September 2, exclusively on Good Morning America. So far, ABC has not announced a premiere date for the series but it has confirmed the series will return in the fall according to Deadline. It will simulcast live across ABC and Disney+ and stream next-day on Hulu.
