Royals fans will love Bobby Witt Jr.’s mic drop from All-Star red carpet
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. is making MLB All-Star Game appearances an annual tradition for himself, as the 26-year-old is preparing to compete in his third Midsummer Classic this year. While on the All-Star red carpet on Tuesday, Witt caught up with the guys from Jomboy Media and was asked an intriguing question. Former player Trevor Plouffe asked the Royals superstar if he had a favorite between making a big defensive play, stealing a crucial base or coming through with a huge home run.
“I think hitting a walk-off grand slam,” Witt said, via Talkin’ Baseball. “That was my go-to.”
Witt accomplished that exact feat back in 2023 in a victory against the Detroit Tigers. It sounds like he wants to replicate that feat soon.

Overall, the Royals have disappointed this season. Witt, however, is performing well once again. He is hitting .286/.355/.461 to go along with 13 home runs and 22 doubles. The infielder also leads the league with a 4.9 WAR and 30 stolen bases.
Witt is an electric player on the field. He does everything at a high level. Not only can Witt hit for power and average while also stealing bases, but he plays a tremendous brand of defense at shortstop. His overall ability to impact the game makes him arguably the best all-around position player in the sport.
Witt is set to bring his elite talent to the American League All-Star team once again on Tuesday night as they look to defeat the National League in what should be a good game.
