Royal Ascot 2026 Day 2 Tips (Wednesday 17th June 2026)

After a thrilling opening day, Royal Ascot rolls on with another high-class card featuring three more Group 1 contests and plenty of competitive handicaps.

The Prince Of Wales’s Stakes headlines Wednesday’s action, while the Queen Mary, Duke Of Cambridge and Royal Hunt Cup all provide fascinating betting opportunities.

Here are my best bets for day two at Royal Ascot.

Joe’s best horse racing betting tips for Royal Ascot 2026 Day 2 (Wednesday 17th June 2026)

Find my top tips for Wednesday 17th June 2026 racing with odds from the best horse racing bookies below:

Royal Ascot 2.30 Queen Mary Stakes (Fillies’ Group 2) 5f

  • 5 of the last 12 winners were favourites or joint favourites and 8 of 12 top 3 in the betting
  • 10 of the last 12 winners were drawn in stall 12 or higher
  • 9 of the last 12 winners won on their last run before
  • 0 of the last 12 winners had a previous win at Ascot

There is so much potential on display here and don’t let anyone put you off your fancy as there have been 25/1 and 20/1 winners in the past three years alone.

I really like WILD BLOSSOM who couldn’t have been anymore impressive on debut. She ended up winning by 10 lengths and definitely looked like she was something a bit special. She should take a step forward from that initial effort and as long as the occasion doesn’t get to her she could make it a perfect 2-2.

Lots of dangers likely headed by Victorious who is already 2-2 having won twice at Naas. She has the scope to improve again and should be bang in the mix.

More Champagne is over from America and did impress on debut and gets her ground so shouldn’t be underestimated either.

🏇 Bet on WILD BLOSSOM Each Way at 27/5 with SBK 🏇

Royal Ascot 3.05 Queen’s Vase (Group 2) 1m6f34y

  • 4 of the last 12 winners were favourites and 11 or 12 top 3 in the betting
  • 5 of the last 12 winners won on their last run before
  • 0 of the last 12 winners had a previous win at Ascot
  • 10 of the last 12 winners had a rating of 94 or higher

Both Galiyan and Limestone have obvious claims but the market hasn’t missed them. I’ve decided to take a chance on POINT OF LAW at a double-figure price. This Frankel colt was beaten just half a length on debut at Yarmouth and then improved to win readily at Newbury last month.

Obviously he was entitled to go and do that but I think he’ll improve again here and he is being underestimated in the market.

Asakir looked good winning at Leopardstown and then bumped into Limestone at Navan so could be value to turn that form around and might be the danger.

Del Maro has plenty of experience to draw upon and is another one who could get in the mix as this is more open than the betting suggests.

🏇 Bet on POINT OF LAW Each Way at 11/1 with bet365 🏇

Royal Ascot 3.40 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (Fillies’ And Mares’ Group 2) (Round) 7f213y

  • 11 of the last 12 winners were aged 4
  • 4 of the last 12 winners were favourites or joint favourites and 7 of 12 top 3 in the betting
  • 2 of the last 12 winners had a previous win at Ascot
  • 10 of the last 12 winners had a rating of 105 or higher

I was with BLUE BOLT on reappearance at Goodwood and you’d have to be impressed with the way she ran on strongly to get up late.

Her form is stacking up now and with track will suit her closing style and I’m confident she can follow up. She has only had seven starts and has won four of them so has a decent strike rate too. This is competitive but she is clearly on an upward curve and looks the one to beat.

Friendly Soul was still travelling kindly when taking a bad step at Haydock no fault of her own.

She was understandably pulled up and comes here with a live chance as she was progressive prior to that. She has untapped potential and looks set to fight it out with the favourite. I think there is a gap to the rest probably headed by Kon Tiki.

🏇 Bet on BLUE BOLT To Win at 14/1 with Paddy Power 🏇

Royal Ascot 4.20 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (Group 1)

  • 12 of the last 12 winners were aged 4 or 5
  • 3 of the last 12 winners were favourites but 9 of 12 top 3 in the betting
  • 11 of the last 12 winners had a rating of 117 or higher
  • 5 of the last 12 winners had at least 1 previous Group 1 win

Another clash I can’t wait to see unfold! OMBUDSMAN overcame trouble in this to win it last year and I think he’ll defend his crown.

He won despite needing the run at Sandown last month and will be spot on now. His form is high-class having won three of his last four with that defeat coming at the hands of Calandagan. He looks a cut above these and should come out on top.

Sea The Stars colt Daryz is improving all the time and is eyeing up a four-timer. He was impressive last time out but is yet to prove himself at this track which definitely swings the pendulum back towards the selection. Almaqam is a talented horse too but this is a big ask.

🏇 Bet on OMBUDSMAN To Win at 11/8 with Boyle Sports 🏇

Royal Ascot 5.00 Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (Straight) 1m

  • 9 of the last 12 winners were aged 4
  • 2 of the last 12 winners were favourites or joint favourites and 6 of 12 top 3 in the betting
  • 9 of the last 12 winners came from stall 11 or higher
  • 10 of the last 12 winners were rated between 95 and 103

The Royal Hunt Cup is always a fascinating betting puzzle to solve. It doesn’t look any easier this year but I do like one at a price in the shape of LINWOOD.

He won at Newmarket and then followed up at Newbury beating Classic. He has Jamie Spencer on board who rides the straight mile really well and with Richard Hannon in form I can’t see how this horse doesn’t go close.

Tons of dangers possibly headed by La Botte who has unfinished business. Indalo was only denied a neck by Classic at Newbury and is another one who arrives with confidence high.

Fifth Column also catches the eye having run well at Newmarket last month.

🏇 Bet on LINWOOD Each Way at 10/1 with Betfred 🏇

Royal Ascot 5.35 Kensington Palace Stakes (Fillies’ And Mares’ Handicap) (Class 2) (Straight) 1m

I thought that was an eye-catching run from ALOBAYYAH over C&D last month.

She has been a work in progress and shaped like a well handicapped filly. She should improve for the run and if settling better could be the one finishing best of all. I know Haggas thinks a fair bit of her and they are bullish of a big run here.

Wathnan Racing snapped up Stateira and she looked a bit unlucky in Ireland the last day. She could run well and emerge as the danger.

Radiant Beauty and Zgharta are also expected to get competitive and this looks a good renewal with a lot of potential lining up.

🏇 Bet on ALOBAYYAH Each Way at 5/1 with Coral 🏇

Royal Ascot 6.10 Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed) 6f

  • 3 of the last 12 winners were favourites and 7 of 12 top 3 in the betting
  • 7 of the last 12 winners drawn in the top 2 or bottom 2 stalls
  • 4 of the last 12 winners won on their last run before
  • 1 of the last 12 winners had at least 1 previous win at Ascot

Aidan O’Brien hasn’t won this since back in 2015 but looks to have a great chance with SERGEI DIAGHILEV.

This colt by Wootton Bassett overcame inexperience to make a winning start at the Curragh last month. The second and third have won since so the form looks even better now. He will improve and looks something out of the ordinary.

Controlla bumped into Victorious on debut but showed serious promise and if improving can get competitive. Sale Shark struck on debut for Hugo Palmer and is another one who could have a say in the finish here.

🏇 Bet on SERGEI DIAGHILEV To Win at 5/2 with Sky Bet 🏇

My top tip for Royal Ascot 2026 Day 2 on Wednesday

The mouthwatering racing continues on Wednesday and BLUE BOLT looks a filly to keep on side given the promise of that Goodwood win and OMBUDSMAN is fancied to stamp his class and defend his Prince Of Wales’s crown.

The double looks good value at around 8/1!

🏇 Bet a Win Double on BLUE BOLT and OMBUDSMAN at 8/1 with bet365 🏇
