Rockets ‘moved on’ from Kevin Durant burner account speculation
On the brink of elimination, the Houston Rockets have reportedly moved on from All-Star Kevin Durant burner account speculation. Durant is ruled out for Saturday’s Game 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers. If the Rockets are to force a Game 7, they’ll have to do it without their All-Star forward.
The Rockets have reportedly endured an up-and-down relationship in their first season with Durant, and the burner-account speculation added extra stress, according to ESPN’s Tim McMahon.
“The Rockets are very sensitive and this has been months-long running now. They’re very sensitive about the vibe, the perception of the vibes,” McMahon said. “And I’ll just tell you, has there been a bit of an emotional roller coaster with KD being thrust into a leadership role that he was never intended to be in? Yes, there has been. Has there been a massive media overreaction to KD not sitting on the bench in game three? Yes, there has been.
“Both of those That’s not what I’m referring to. I’m referring to social media stuff. So, well, that too. And look, that was there was a discussion had among the players and they moved on from it is what I was told. But like that’s part of the KD when I say there’s been an emotional roller coaster with KD this season. That’s that’s obviously a big part of it.”
The Rockets will host the Lakers in Game 6 on Saturday.
Kevin Durant on burner account accusations after Rockets loss

Rockets All-Star Kevin Durant addressed his Twitter burner account accusations after a Game 3 loss of his best-of-7 series against the Lakers. A reluctant Durant addressed the accusations, per NBA on ESPN’s Vanessa Richardson.
“I know you’ve got to ask these questions, but I’m not here to get into Twitter nonsense,” Durant said at the time. “I’m just here to focus on the season and keep but pushing. But I get you have to ask those questions. My teammates know what it is, we’ve been locked in the whole season. We’ve enjoyed our break, had a great practice today, and looking forward to the road trip.”
