Rockets’ Kevin Durant makes bold LeBron James prediction amid free agency drama

Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant has developed a close relationship with NBA star LeBron James. But just like the rest of the universe, Durant has no idea where James will end up in free agency.

James could announce his decision this week amid all the chatter surrounding his situation. The 41-year-old forward will record a podcast on Thursday and shoot a show on Friday at Fanatics Fest in New York, leading many to believe that James will reveal his move.

Durant will also be at Fanatics Fest. But before that, he attended the MLB All-Star Game in Philadelphia on Tuesday. NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark caught up with him and asked him about various topics, including James’ free agency.

The 37-year-old Durant admitted that he is clueless about James’ decision, but he is confident that the NBA’s all-time leading scorer will continue to play at a high level.

“Wherever he goes, I know he’s going to ball out and show that he still got a lot left in the tank at 42 years old,” said Durant.

The Miami Heat, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly the frontrunners to land James, although ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel noted that the Golden State Warriors are still actively pursuing the 22-time All-Star. James recently went on a vacation with Warriors forward Draymond Green in Puerto Rico.

The Rockets were barely linked to the future Hall of Famer, as the front office has appeared to prioritize the team’s young core.

James led the Los Angeles Lakers past the Rockets in the first round of the playoffs in May.
