The Baltimore Ravens have already claimed one of the NFL’s most meaningful victories before the 2026 season even begins. At the 2026 Sports Humanitarian Awards, the Ravens were named ESPN’s Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year. It recognized the franchise’s sustained commitment to youth development, education, and community service throughout Maryland. Baltimore edged fellow finalists the Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Browns, and Seattle Storm to receive the prestigious honor.

The award underscored an organization-wide culture that extends well beyond football. The Ravens’ community impact extends from early childhood through college and career development. The organization has distributed more than 1.3 million books through its Ravens Bookmobile program. They have also partnered with local groups to provide hundreds of thousands of meals to families facing food insecurity. The Ravens additionally invested $20 million alongside the Bisciotti Family Foundation to open the Baltimore Ravens Boys & Girls Club at Hilton Recreation Center in 2025.

The franchise has also pledged $30 million over the next decade to expand college access and career readiness initiatives. This is highlighted by a $20 million investment in College Track. They launched their Baltimore site in March to support first-generation college students. Additionally, the Ravens and the Ozzie Newsome Scholarship programs have contributed $6 million to help Maryland students pursue higher education.

Baltimore now turns its attention to an intriguing 2026 campaign under first-year head coach Jesse Minter. Lamar Jackson remains the centerpiece of an offense complemented by Derrick Henry and promising young receivers. Defensively, the additions of Trey Hendrickson and Calais Campbell bolster a unit led by Roquan Smith, Kyle Hamilton, and Nnamdi Madubuike. Baltimore enters the season believing it has the pieces to reclaim the AFC North and compete for the conference’s top seed.
