Rangers vs Jagiellonia Bialystok predictions
Rangers have endured a poor start to the season and Derek McInnes is already under pressure.
A return of one point from a possible six in the Scottish Premiership has left Rangers playing catch-up to Celtic already.
In Europe, meanwhile, Rangers need a win on Thursday to avoid elimination from the Europa League in the third qualifying round – and even a win on the night is not guaranteed to be enough.
The first leg of this tie against Jagiellonia Bialystok ended in a 2-1 defeat for Rangers, who were made to pay for an error-strewn first half in Poland.
McInnes’ men then missed chances late on to leave them in a vulnerable position at the midway point of the tie.
Rangers’ woes were compounded on Sunday, as Hibernian departed Ibrox with all three points after a 2-1 triumph.
A confident victory here would potentially kick-start Rangers’ season, but a draw or defeat would only amplify the current feeling of doom and gloom at Ibrox.
The tie is eminently salvageable for the Scottish giants, yet Jagiellonia Bialystok will be quietly confident of completing the job in Glasgow
Rangers vs Jagiellonia Bialystok tips
Rangers must beat Jagiellonia Bialystok to stand a chance of qualifying for the Europa League.
Huge night for Rangers
Rangers will hope that the Ibrox crowd helps to get them over the line on Thursday, but their recent record on familiar soil is nothing to write home about.
Club Brugge, Genk, Roma and Braga all avoided defeat away to Rangers in Europe last term.
Derek McInnes’ side had their moments in the 2-1 losses to Jagiellonia Bialystok and Hibernian, but on both occasions they were undone by defensive sloppiness and wasteful finishing.
With a draw enough for Jagiellonia to advance, they are in a decent position to get what they need this week. The odds being hugely in Rangers’ favour simply makes the double chance market excellent value.
Tip Jagiellonia Bialystok to win or draw at 11/8 with Tote
Can Gers keep back door shut?
Rangers are yet to keep a clean sheet in 2026/27, conceding five goals in their three encounters up to now.
They were architects of their own downfall against Jagiellonia Bialystok, before making things too easy for Hibernian at the weekend.
On the plus side, Rangers have scored in all three games – and they probably should have found the back of the net more often. Conversion has been a bigger problem than creation so far.
Yet while Rangers should make the net bulge in front of their own supporters, they will struggle to keep Jagiellonia out at the other end.
Choose both teams to score at 3/4 with William Hill
Prelec can strike for visitors
Kajetan Szmyt was the hero of Jagiellonia Bialystok’s 2-1 victory over Rangers last week, scoring twice to bring the Polish outfit victory.
For the second leg, we prefer Nik Prelec as an anytime goalscorer pick. Prelec is Jagiellonia’s centre-forward and he should get chances against a Rangers backline that has been far from watertight at the start of the season.
Prelec has made a solid start to his Jagiellonia career, scoring two goals in his first three league appearances for the club.
The Slovenian frontman will now be striving to make his mark on this crucial Europa League qualifier.
Back Nik Prelec to score any time at 16/5 with SBK
