Rangers’ Chris Young makes feelings extremely clear on Corey Seager’s brutal slump

Texas Rangers star Corey Seager has been in a slump throughout the first few weeks of the 2026 MLB season. Seager is currently hitting just .207/.308/.414 across 30 games played. He has recorded six home runs, but his overall performance at the plate has been rather underwhelming. Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young is not worried about the star shortstop, however.

“This is not the first time that Corey has been through a slump, whether it’s at the start of the season or in season,” Young said, via MLB Network Radio. “It won’t be the last either. Every great player goes through it. Corey is really the least of my concerns honestly. He is going to figure it out. He’s gonna be just fine. My guess is at the end of the year, his numbers are gonna look very similar to where he’s always been over the course of his career. It’s just a matter of time… Corey is an All-Star, championship-caliber player, and I have no doubt he’s going to figure it out.
