Rams rumors: Adam Schefter prediction teases Aaron Donald coming out of retirement

The Los Angeles Rams are going all in on the 2026 season. LA acquired Myles Garrett from Cleveland, adding the final piece to what could be a Super Bowl team. One NFL insider just added to the hype surrounding the possibility that Aaron Donald will come out of retirement to join Garrett.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter teased the possibility of Donald coming out of retirement on a recent podcast episode.

“Nobody is coming out right now and saying Aaron Donald is coming back. But everybody is acknowledging that it is a possibility,” Schefter said on Tuesday via The Adam Schefter Podcast. “The fact that it is even a possibility in June tells me that I think there’s every possibility it will become more real in July. And I think, if and when [the Rams] present a plan to him as to how he would be used, I think it’s more likely than not that he’ll be back.”

Schefter made it very clear that nobody has actually said that and he was not reporting that it will happen. He is simply guessing that it will happen.

Still, Rams fans have to be excited about the mounting evidence that Donald could actually make a comeback in 2026.

“The fact that this is even coming up, and the fact that the Rams have the team that they do, and the fact that Aaron Donald would get to play with Myles Garrett, and the fact that the Super Bowl is in LA this year… I just think the ingredients are there to make it happen,” Schefter concluded.

It will be exciting to see if the hype around Donald continues to grow closer to training camp.
