Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to play for the 11th different club of career
Former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is close to agreeing a two-year deal with LaLiga side Deportivo A Coruna.
Deportivo are set to become the 11th club of the Gabon legend’s career as they return to the Spanish top flight after eight years away.

Aubameyang’s next stop
Aubameyang has been at Marseille since re-joining the French outfit for a second spell last summer, though he landed himself in trouble there back in May after an incident involving a fire extinguisher.
The 37-year-old has had four clubs since leaving Arsenal – where he won the 2019/20 FA Cup and shared the 2018/19 Premier League Golden Boot – in February 2022.
He departed the Gunners for Barcelona by mutual consent having been stripped of the captaincy by Mikel Arteta for disciplinary reasons.
However, he returned to England with Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea barely six months later.
Prolific stints with Marseille and Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah then followed.
Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.
The transfer fee of £56m was a club record for the Gunners at the time.
Prior to that, Aubameyang turned out for Saint-Etienne, having begun his senior career with Italian giants AC Milan.
However, he never made a first-team appearance for the Rossoneri, who loaned him out to Dijon, Lille and Monaco.
Aubameyang has scored 40 goals in 86 caps for Gabon, though he hasn’t represented the country since their Minister of Sports took the extraordinary step of suspending the national team following their group-stage exit from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

An Arsenal reunion on the cards
Deportivo won promotion back to the top division after finishing as runners-up in the second tier last season.
The Galician club, who famously won the 1999/2000 LaLiga title, had dropped as low as the third tier, spending four years at that level.
Aubameyang’s prospective teammates include ex-Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino.
The midfielder made his Gunners’ first-team debut in December 2021, shortly before Aubameyang exited for Barcelona.
After loan spells at Blackpool and Swansea City, Patino completed a permanent move to Deportivo in the summer of 2024.
Deportivo, managed by Antonio Hidalgo, begin the 2026/27 LaLiga campaign at home to Elche on August 17.
