Orioles’ Jackson Holliday shares huge update after recent injury scare
Baltimore Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday recently exited a rehab game with what seemed to be a potential injury setback. Holliday has been working hard to return and the early exit represented an injury scare. On Friday, Holliday shared an important update, however.
“Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday said his MRI, CT scan and x-ray all came back clean on his hand. He is shut down for a week to let inflammation settle down. Holliday said that swing in Norfolk felt as though he broke his hand again, but he has been reassured no major issue,” Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner reported.
Holliday, 22, suffered the hand injury before the regular season. He was seemingly getting close to returning before leaving the recent rehab game. While this will delay his return timeline, the good news is that Holliday avoided another serious injury.
Holliday was once a top prospect. His overall performance at the big league level has been rather inconsistent, but he still features the ceiling of a star. Holliday hit 17 home runs and stole 17 bases during the 2025 MLB season.
The Orioles are currently 12-13 overall. Baltimore has dealt with a number of injury concerns in addition to some overall underperformance. The ball club still plans to compete for a postseason spot this year, though. The Orioles are looking to climb the standings as they are third in the American League East right now.
Meanwhile, the Orioles will continue to monitor and provide updates on Jackson Holliday’s injury status as they are made available.
